Bulk Jobs⚓︎

What are bulk jobs?⚓︎

Bulk jobs are used to execute an action on multiple devices at once. For example, you can update the firmware of your fleet’s telematics units all at once or re-configure all devices installed in vehicles of the same model.
If you only need to access a single fleet unit, you can also use its Inspect page.

How do I plan and execute bulk jobs?⚓︎

To create a bulk job, select at least one fleet unit in the Fleet Viewer. Then, choose an action under CloudBoxx Bulk Actions in the control panel on the right.
The following bulk jobs are currently only available for CloudBoxxes.

Firmware update

Choose a firmware type and firmware version Then, select how often the firmware update should be retried in case it is unsuccessful. Select Proceed and start the firmware update.

Configuration

Adjust all settings necessary. Then, select Proceed and start the configuration update. Only settings that were changed will be updated.

Accelerometer configuration

Adjust all accelerometer settings necessary. Then, select Proceed and start the update. Only settings that were changed will be updated.

What does Check Immobilizer do?⚓︎

If you select Check immobilizer while planning a bulk software update, the update will only be installed if the vehicle’s immobilizer is locked, i.e., if the vehicle is currently not in use.
If a vehicle’s immobilizer is unlocked, the firmware update will be retried at a later point.
Use this option to ensure updates are only installed outside of rentals.

What does Request Modem Reset do?⚓︎

If you check Request Modem Reset while planning a bulk software update, the device will reset its modem and reconnect to the cellular network before installing the firmware update. This option can ensure that the connection is stable when starting the software update and minimize the risk of the update being interrupted.
