CloudBoxx FAQ: General⚓︎

How long can I use INVERS technology?⚓︎

We guarantee support of 6 years for our products after production and shipment. Our more than 30 years of market experience and market presence has taught us that we can offer these long product life cycles to our customers in good conscience. The support also includes the supply of necessary firmware updates and electrical components. We even have customers who have already used our products for more than 10 years.

Which software and what logic do other customers use to retrieve data from the CloudBoxx?⚓︎

Our APIs are platform independent to avoid any restrictions for our customers when implementing their booking software against our APIs. For additional information, go to our developer homepage.

What is the unique ID of the CloudBoxx?⚓︎

The telematics unit ID, formerly called QNR, is a CloudBoxx’s unique ID. Within our APIs, it is usually returned as telematics_unit_id.

What is the telematics unit ID and what is the difference between the telematics unit ID and the serial number?⚓︎

The telematics unit ID, previously called QNR, can be used to uniquely identify a CloudBoxx. The serial number is a second identifier sometimes used alternatively to the telematics unit ID.

Can the SIM cards of the CloudBoxx be exchanged? Is it possible to use your own SIM cards?⚓︎

The SIM cards cannot be exchanged, nor can your own SIM cards be used. This would limit the functionality of the CloudBoxx.

Might there be problems because the SIM card is not soldered to the circuit board like a M2M chip?⚓︎

The SIM cards have successfully passed different shake tests and have been used in several tens of thousands of cars without any problems so far.

Which car information can be retrieved via the CloudBoxx?⚓︎

This depends on whether the car has a CAN bus or not and what information is transmitted over the CAN bus. This can vary greatly for each manufacturer, model and year of manufacturing of the vehicle.

What happens if the contract is canceled and the CloudBoxx is put out of service?⚓︎

In this case, the CloudBoxx is removed from the account of the mobility provider and the SIM inside the CloudBoxx is terminated. After this procedure, it is not possible to use or access the CloudBoxx anymore. If the CloudBoxx is still installed in a car, it will keep the latest status and configuration.
