General Information⚓︎
The CloudBoxx is a simple standalone device with a server or app triggered user scenario. It does not handle any reservations or booking logic.
The CloudBoxx is installed in a vehicle and allows an interaction between the user and the vehicle. Thus, a customer app on a smartphone is able to trigger the central door locking, immobilizer or to show vehicle data.
The CloudBoxx offers two communication channels:
- Network (3G/4G or LTE-M)
- Bluetooth 4.0 (Bluetooth Low Energy)
Additionally, the CloudBoxx can provide key and fuel/parking card tracking, and in addition to vehicle data (such as door status, speed, fuel level), it may also provide the current car position.
The CloudBoxx handles the following tasks:
- Prevents starting the vehicle if the key has been taken illegally from the keyholder in the glove compartment
- Locks and unlocks the car (central lock and immobilizer)
- Provides vehicle information
- Records user data such as driven mileage, trip start and trip end
- Sends trip data to the reservation software
- If applicable, functions as GPS, fuel card tracking, etc.
